Park Hill

On this photograph I have changed the aperture setting on the camera by turning it down, in doing this it has let less light into the camera which creates a darker image with less whites around this building. The aperture setting in this photograph was set to F/11, this helps me create more photojournalism for my theme as most photographs in this theme aren't bright but more dark and dull looking images in black and white rather than any greys and whites. The effect this has on the final image is a darker images and it also turns down all the whites in the image. This is an image I took of the new part of the Park Hill flats in Sheffield, I decided to take the images of Park Hill because I like the photography themes of run down buildings and rough places, even though it is the new part of Park Hill using Monochrome in Photoshop has helped me change the photograph to still look old and run down.

PLAN

My theme I have chosen to work with is documentary and photojournalism as I feel these images hold a story and are also very powerful just by looking at them even if the story of photograph hasn't been told or seen yet. My plan for my photoshoot will be to have a model looking at the camera while the camera is looking up at the model, the background being Park Hill again and the model to be wearing rugged and dirty looking clothes so the image will look as if the model has had a rough life growing up in a rough area to show the audiences and viewers that life can be really dark and hard for everybody and that no one should look down on anybody because that's how life can turn for everybody. 

Location: Park Hill Sheffield

Timing: At night as this will have the darkest looking effect rather than mid day with nice weather and the sun shining down on the model.

Shot Planning:

Models: Teenage boy or an older rough looking man for more photojournalism

Camera Settings: A fast shutter speed but a low aperture to capture the image straight away with no blur and to also capture the background in full focus.

Lens: I will use a wide angle lens as this will capture the surroundings of the model as I am taking the photograph in a rough area purposely so people can see the rough parts of the world.
