What style of photography does impressionism relate to? This style of photography relates to documentary photography and photojournalism, an impression of real life. (to impress and show something or reflect something) this is why it relates to documentary photography and journalistic styled movement.
The development of impressionism can be considered partly as a reaction by artists to challenge presented my photography, which seemed to devalue the artists skill in reproducing reality
